A few words
About Us
Story
We were provoked by the absence of theater culture and theatrical performance in El-Chouf; it is mostly concentrated in Beirut.
Sarmada is a Lebanese association founded in 2018 and registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities number (2058) in 2019, located in Batloun – El-Chouf. Sarmada association works to raise awareness about cultural arts and theatre in El-Chouf, where public spaces for creative expression are lacking and theatre groups few.
The idea was born when a group of young people, passionate about artistic and cultural works, especially theater, decided to gather emerging talents and create a space for artistic convergence in the region, in an attempt to establish an artistic movement in El-Chouf region.
Sarmada was founded by Zaher Kais (Acting and Directing, member of the Syndicate of Lebanese Actors in Radio, Television, Cinema and Theater), Bassam Boudiab (MA in Directing and Acting), Nancy Boudiab (MA, Radio/Television), Nour Kais (Architecture), and Raneem Riman (MA, Theater, Direction and Acting).
